Job seekers looking to connect directly with employers attended Western Washington University’s Winter Career Fair, Tuesday, March 7 in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room. Admission to the fair was free and open to the public.
Over a pizza lunch Tuesday, President Sabah Randhawa thanked Western's Facilities Management Outdoor Maintenance and Fleet Maintenance crews for their hard work and long days clearing snow and ice from the walkways and interior roadways during last week's storms.
Western Washington University alumnus Ty Minton-Small, a cinematographer for the critically acclaimed documentary “Gleason,” discussed the film at a public screening at Western Friday, Feb. 3 in the Performing Arts Center Concert Hall.

Last Thursday, Nov.17, participants gathered in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room for the annual Walk of Hope: A Suicide Awareness Event. The evening consisted of student and faculty speakers, a candlelight walk through campus, and tabling from resources in an attempt to break down the stigmas around suicide and provide hope to those who need it most. Co-sponsored by the WWU chapter of Write Love on her Arms.

Costumed Western Washington University students welcomed local trick-or-treaters from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Ridgeway University Residences complex.
All of Ridgeway’s community lounges were decorated in fun, free, safe, age-appropriate themes aimed at children ages 1-12.

Blues musician Wes Mackey played the second of five free weekly summer concerts on the PAC Plaza June 6.
While Mackey's first gig--more than 50 years ago--paid only 50 cents and a chicken sandwich, he eventually found himself touring with the likes of Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, and others.
Mackey now lives in Vancouver, B. C., but says Bellingham is one of his favorite towns.

John Lawson, Western Washington University's vice provost for Information Technology and chief information officer, is retiring after 10 years at Western.
A party was held in his honor on Thursday, June 30, in the Old Main Solarium.

"Commedia in the Park" is an annual event presented by Western Washington University Theatre students enrolled in the summer course "Advanced Acting Topics," taught by Rich Brown.
The highly physicalized, masked comic performance originates from the Italian Renaissance. The show features well-known stock characters such as the tricky servants, young lovers and foolish old men.
The performances, which occurred in Bellingham's Maritime Heritage Park are over for this summer, but they'll be back in 2017.
