Western Washington University 2022 Summer Session Available In-Person and Online for Students

Western Washington University offers Summer Session courses to all current Western students and community members.

Summer Session is a great opportunity to get ahead in classes for early graduation, and to enjoy smaller classes with more access to faculty. Choose from a variety of course options, including on campus, online, field study and faculty-led study abroad.

Registration for Summer Session opens on May 3, 2022. There are two general sessions with different dates. The six-week session runs from June 21 through July 29. The nine-week session runs from June 21 through August 19. Additionally, select courses can be offered in an intensive format with specified dates. Most summer classes are offered in a concentrated format.

There are a number of benefits of attending Summer Session at Western, including:

  • Shorter term options allow you to complete credits while still having time to enjoy summer
  • Smaller class sizes with increased student-faculty interaction
  • Unique summer-only offerings
  • Less competition to get a seat in popular courses that fill quickly during the normal academic year

There are 13 online, drop-in Summer Session Q&A sessions through May 26. Sessions will be held Mondays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Registration and a full list of session dates is available on the Summer Session drop-in Q&A page. 

25 undergraduate students will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship for Summer Session courses during 2022. The online application is available now! Submission deadline is April 11. Learn more and apply on the Summer Session scholarship page.
