Western to again offer service-learning in Rwanda

Western Washington University and the Center for Service-Learning are offering another service-learning study abroad course during the 2013 nine week summer session. The class, “Building Bridges with Rwanda: Collaborative International Service-Learning,” includes pre- and post-trip preparation and reflection, as well as six weeks on the ground in rural Rwanda.

The trip will be led by Steven Vanderstaay, Western's vice provost for Undergraduate Education, and Lee Gulyas, senior instructor of English. Tim Costello, director of Western's Center for Service-Learning, also will be on the trip.

An information session to present details of the program will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, in College Hall Room 137. Interested students are encouraged to attend to learn more.

More information, including the application (due Feb. 8), can be found on the Building Bridges with Rwanda website.
