'Starting Your Toolbox: Basics for Building Inclusive Communities' workshops for students start Tuesday, Oct. 10

All students – including groups of student employees and classes – are welcomed and encouraged to participate in this workshop series hosted by the ADEI Unit of Enrollment and Student Services. In these sessions, students will build skills to foster inclusive, equitable communities. Attend just one, pick a few, or join us for a session on each topic.

Workshops start Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. with "Being an Upstander: Intervening to Address Microaggressions and Bias Incidents." Topics covered will include factors impacting people’s willingness to speak up and intervene, and ways to take action as an upstander. The session will include time to practice intervening to interrupt incidents of bias.

Workshops held in Multicultural Center 735 in the Viking Union. Check the ADEI Unit website for information about future workshops and any location changes. For disability accommodations, please contact ess.adei@wwu.edu.
