Robert Anderson joins the WWU police force

Robert Anderson joined the WWU Police Department on Dec. 1. He comes to Western from working the past three years with the Lummi Nation Police Department as a Drug Interdiction/Patrol Officer. Prior to that, he worked 12 ½ years with the Wiliams, Arizona Police Department.

WWU Assistant Vice President of Safety & Security and Chief of Police Katy Potts said she was happy with the addition of Anderson to the department.

"I am pleased to have Robert join the team and become a part of the WWU community. During his interview he was clear that throughout his law enforcement career he found it beneficial to build rapport with people and getting to know the community has only helped him in his career," Potts said.

When asked why Western Washington University, Anderson said, “I believe this organization stands firmly on community policing, bridging the gap between law enforcement and law-abiding citizens, and wanting to build a better community.  It truly is an honor to join WWUPD and continue to grow in this chosen profession.”
