Racial inequality is subject of Jan. 20 lecture in Poulsbo

Members of the public are invited to join Western Washington University professor, political activist, author and former presidential campaign adviser Vernon Johnson for the Western Lecture Series as he explores issues related to race in America in “All the Ways that Race Still Matters: What the Rulings in Ferguson and Staten Island Tell Us about America” at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 in room 219 on the Olympic College Poulsbo campus.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Johnson will share insight on the recent grand jury rulings in Missouri and New York and examine contrasting racial outcomes in education, immigration, criminal sentencing and incarceration.
