Photos: Black Excellence Ball at WWU
The Black Student Union at Western Washington University held its first Black Excellence Conference April 23 to 25 with the goal of empowering and cultivating community among black students in Washington.
Black Student Union members from universities throughout the state attended the weekend events.
The conference included four workshop options:
- Queer identity within the Black community
- Community Building
- Campus Climate discussion/check-in
- Hip Hop, Activism, and Mental health
The Black Excellence Ball, open to all students at Western and to the general public, was a highlight of the weekend. It was held in the Reading Room in Wilson Library.
