OSR data snippet: Student grades by course level

This data snippet from the Office of Institutional Research looks at the grade-point averages of 2014 spring graduates.

The data are divided by the students' type upon entering the university (native freshmen, Running Start or transfer) and their course level.

The average differences between these types of students are small; former running-start students slightly outperform transfers and traditional freshmen at the 400-level, but at the 100-level, transfers slightly outperform other students. Unsurprisingly, all courses at the 400-level average higher grades than those taught at lower levels.
