Dead Parrots Society advances to national improv tournament

The Dead Parrots Society, Western Washington University's student comedy improv troupe, has for the fourth consecutive year advanced to the national finals of the College Improv Tournament. The team earned that berth by placing first among ten teams in this past weekend's Pacific Northwest regional.

The national finals, which team won back in 2010-11, will take place in Chicago on March 1. This past year, Dead Parrots Society took second place in the regional but was chosen as a wild card team to advance.

The Dead Parrots Society is an Associated Students club that performs improv comedy regularly on Western's campus and throughout the Northwest. Rehearsals are open to all students from 8 to 10 p.m. every Tuesday in Humanities Room 110. To contact DPS for further information, please email deadparrotssociety.wwu@gmail.com.

The annual tournament is run by Chicago Improv Productions, a group responsible for both the College Improv Tournament and the Chicago Improv Festival.
