New Design faculty member serves as a keynote speaker in Phoenix at the Method+Madness Conference

Assistant Professor John Gialanella of the Design Department recently participated as a keynote speaker at AIGA Phoenix’s Method+Madness Conference. Along with fellow team members Jen Duran and Eric Torres, Gialanella and the team spoke to conference attendees about their grant-funded AIGA Innovate project. The project attempts to reach underserved middle and high school students and encourage them to become designers and creative professionals. They discussed the process for writing and securing the grant, developing the game concept, play-testing, and what they hope to accomplish with the project. On the second day of the conference, they participated in a breakout session where they were able to share the game with attendees and allow them to play.
