LiveSafe App to be deactivated as of Friday, Feb. 16 

New campus safety app with additional features to be launched in the spring 

Effective this Friday, Western will be discontinuing its use of the LiveSafe mobile safety platform. Once deactivated, LiveSafe will no longer be operational.  

Western students, faculty and staff are reminded to dial 360-650-3911 for University Police directly or 9-1-1 for emergency assistance.  To contact the WWU Police Department for a non-emergency or to request assistance from WWU’s Green Coat public safety assistants, call (360) 650-3555. 

WesternSafe coming this spring 

Following the deactivation of LiveSafe, a new and improved campus safety app is set to launch this spring. The platform, to be named WesternSafe, will include all the functionalities of LiveSafe and more, ensuring a comprehensive mobile campus safety app for the WWU community. 

Key features of WesternSafe will include: 

  • Safe walk assistance 

  • Report suspicious activity 

  • Mental health assistance 

  • Report graffiti

  • Safety escort 

  • Motorist assistance 

  • Mobile blue light phone
