WWU names new provost, VP for Academic Affairs

Western Washington University has promoted the dean of its largest college to a two-year term as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.

Brent Carbajal, the current dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, will begin serving as provost Aug. 1, after current Provost Catherine Riordan steps down.

WWU President Bruce Shepard made the announcement Monday, June 3, saying the move has broad support among campus leadership.
