Working together to create safe and just society for all at Whatcom MLK conference

Have we reached Dr. King’s goals? After all, we have an African-American President and across the country, women and members of minorities are governors, senators, representatives, mayors, and chief executive officers of major corporations. In his last speech, delivered in Memphis, the day before he was assassinated, Dr. King s urged us to keep working toward the “promised land” of a fair and just society in the United States, even though he thought he might not get there with us.
