International Women's Day events coming March 8

A celebration for International Women's Day will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room on campus.

Speakers will cover such topics as sex trafficking and motherhood, and entertainment will include traditional dance, art, music and poetry. Free on-site childcare will be available.

The event is being put on by the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies program and the WGSS 314 classes taught by senior instructor Shurla Thibou. Support also comes from Katie Plewa in Prevention and Wellness Services and Abigail Borchert in International Student and Scholar Services.
