H1N1 clinics to be offered Dec. 2 and Dec. 7

Two H1N1 vaccination clinics will be offered on campus in early December. Please read below to see if you are eligible to receive free H1N1 vaccine, and if so, how to reserve your appointment.

From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, and from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, both  in the Viking Union Multipurpose room, WWU nurses will be providing free H1N1 injectable vaccine to the following categories of people:

  • WWU students and staff 64 years of age and younger with chronic medical conditions that place you at risk for complications from the flu. You are eligible for the shot only.
  • WWU students and staff 24 years of age and younger. You are eligible for the intranasal vaccine.
  • WWU students and staff 49 years of age and younger with household contact with an infant under 6 months of age. You are eligible for the intranasal vaccine.
  • WWU students and staff who are pregnant. We have preservative (thimerosal) free vaccine available for you. You are eligible for the shot only.

To schedule your appointment for H1N1 vaccine, go to https://www.appointment.com/wwustudenthealthcenter.

We are unable to provide any vaccine at this time to other healthy individuals ages 25 and older as younger individuals are still considered highest priority for the limited vaccine supply.

We will not be making appointments by phone. Please do not call the WWU Student Health Center to schedule this appointment. Do not arrive early. Plan on spending 30 to 50 minutes total at the clinic, as there is a 15-minute waiting period after receiving the vaccine.

To be eligible for vaccine in these clinics, you need to be a current WWU employee or enrolled student and you will need to provide your W number for identification. Please review the appropriate vaccine information sheet to verify you do not have any contraindications to the vaccine and print and complete the appropriate vaccine consent form found at http://www.wwu.edu/chw/student_health/vaccine_clinic.shtml and have the consent form ready to hand in at the vaccine clinic.
