Former Boeing VP Carolyn Corvi to speak on strategic decisions Oct. 17

Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics will host Carolyn Corvi as part of its Strategic Management Executive Speaker Series from 3 – 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, in Parks Hall room 146. 

Corvi will make a formal presentation titled, “Strategic Decisions – Competing in a Duopoly;” this presentation is free and open to the public.

After a successful 34-year career at Boeing, Corvi now serves on the board of directors of United Airlines, Allegheny Technologies, Inc. and Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. She served on the board of directors of Goodrich Corporation from 2009-2012, until the company was acquired by UTC.

Corvi is co-founder of the Northwest Children’s Fund and remains involved in charitable community activities. She recently served 12 years on the board of the Virginia Mason Medical Center, and continues to serve as a board member at the Virginia Mason Institute, as well as a trustee at The Seattle Foundation and the Museum of Flight.

Corvi holds a master’s degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Washington.

The WWU College of Business and Economics Strategic Management Executive Speaker Series program brings senior business leaders to campus to interact with students and share their perspectives on strategic management, leadership and professional development. The Speaker Series is presented by the CBE’s Center for Innovation in Education.
