Flags to be at half-staff Dec. 1 in honor of Marysville soldier

Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at all Washington state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Tuesday, Dec. 1, in memory of U. S. Army Staff Sgt. John J. Cleaver, 36, of Marysville, who died Nov. 19 in Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when a suicide bomber attacked his unit.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Tuesday, or first thing Wednesday morning.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
