Dead Parrots to perform April 4 at Chicago Improv Festival

Dead Parrots Society, Western Washington University’s student improv troupe, is flying back to Chicago to perform in the 17th annual Chicago Improv Festival, a national festival featuring improv of all varieties.

The Dead Parrots were recently in Chicago on March 1 for the College Improv Tournament, where they placed fourth in the nation out of 136 college teams.

At the festival, the Dead Parrots will be performing long-form improv at 9 p.m. Friday, April 4, alongside SCRAM, an internationally touring improv show featuring Jill Bernard and Joe Bill. Teams have to apply and be accepted into the festival, and other participating performers include Matt Besser, Tim Meadows and Horatio Sanz.

Chicago Improv Productions is responsible for both the Chicago Improv Festival and the College Improv Tournament. The Dead Parrots Society is an AS club that performs improv comedy regularly on WWU’s campus and across the Pacific Northwest. They have rehearsals open to all students every Tuesday from 8 to 10 p.m. in Humanities Room 110.
