City community development board seeks new members

The City of Bellingham Community Development Advisory Board is seeking to fill two board vacancies and is inviting qualifying WWU community members to apply. The board advises the city council, the mayor, the planning commission and various city departments, as appropriate, concerning the formulation of policies and plans and the identification of projects in order to carry out the Community Development Block Grant Program and the HOME Investment Partnership Program.

Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.

Openings exist for representatives from Ward 5 or Ward 6, which include WWU, its surrounding neighborhoods and south Bellingham. Check out this map for specific ward boundaries.

Visit the City of Bellingham website for more details about the board, and contact current board member Alex Allyne at alex.allyne@wwu.edu or (360) 650-7518 if you would like to learn more or apply.
