Cindy Ferrario to retire on Sept. 3 after 29 years at Western

Cindy Ferrario, a research and data systems specialist in the Registrar's Office, will retire on Sept. 3 after more than 29 years of service to Western.

While at the university, Ferrario's areas of responsibility included classroom scheduling, the implementation of a computerized classroom scheduling system to replace the older paper scheduling systems, and after a move to Fiscal Services, she assisted in planning and rollout of Banner HR implementation. After she returned to the registrar's office she worked on the implementation of the Banner student information system followed by implementation of voice-response registration, web self-service registration, degree audit and transfer articulation implementations and many, many version upgrades of Banner Student.

Ferrario thanked her peers, colleagues and co-workers for a wonderful 29 years.

"I want to give a huge thank you to all the incredible colleagues and many, many individuals that have encouraged me with their integrity, humility, and work ethic in my 29 years here at Western, all with a common goal to support the learning experience. What a lively and never-boring journey," she said.

Shelli Soto, Western's assistant vice president for Enrollment Management, said Ferrario played a crucial role in the office's many successes over the past three decades.

"Western has benefited in so many ways from the many contributions that Cindy has made over the years, and we will continue to benefit from her work for many years to come.  I am thankful to have been able to rely on her expertise in my time here and have appreciated her counsel.  We will miss her," Soto said.
