BLPR Philosophy Lecture Series Continues Tomorrow with Eleonore Stump

 

Eleonore Stump will present "The Problem of Suffering: A Thomistic Approach to Theodicy" as part of the Bellingham Lectures in Philosophy and Religion (BLPR) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Performing Arts Center on the Western Washington University campus.

The presentations are free, open to the public and will be streamed live through the BLPR website at www.blpr.org.

Stump is a past president of the Society of Christian Philosophers, the American Catholic Philosophical Association and the American Philosophical Association, Central Division. She is the author of numerous articles and books, including “Wandering in Darkness: Narrative and the Problem of Suffering.” In 2012, she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

The BLPR are designed to facilitate informed, articulate thinking and civil conversation regarding big questions present in philosophy, religion and science. The lecture series is supported by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation.
