WWU's Ralph Munro Institute for Civic Education to Host Candidates' Forum Oct. 18

BELLINGHAM – The Ralph Munro Institute for Civic Education at Western Washington University and the City of Bellingham will host a forum for candidates running for office in the 40th and 42nd legislative districts at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18 in the Bellingham City Council Chambers at 210 Lottie St. downtown.

Students from Government classes at Meridian and Lynden high schools created the questions and will moderate the forum.

The event is free and open to the public.

"The Munro Institute is dedicated to civic education.  This event, planned and moderated by local high school students, is an example of the strong partnerships between the University, local high schools, and the City of Bellingham," said Sara Weir, chair of the Political Science department at WWU and director of the Munro Institute.
