WWU's CEV to put on social media conference March 25 in Mount Vernon

The Center for Economic Vitality at Western Washington University and Technology Alliance Group NW are putting together the Social Media Conference NW 2010. The event will be held March 25 at McIntyre Performing Arts Hall and Conference Center in Mount Vernon.

At the inaugural event, in 2008, 250 attendees from throughout the state and the country learned about social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. This year, conference organizers plan to go beyond the basics to teach about all that stuff that goes into deciding which tool(s) to use to help achieve strategic business goals:

  • Learn why you must and how you can participate in the conversations that are your market.
  • Hear from leading social media marketing professionals and practitioners.
  • Walk away with practical plans and resources.

This conference has been designed for managers and owners of small- to medium-sized businesses and professionals involved in marketing and public relations in the Pacific Northwest who are new to social media or are already involved and want to take it to the next level.

Registration is under way. Rates:

  • Early Bird Rates (purchased before March 11): $198 for TAG and CEV clients, $225 for non‐members/clients
  • Rates after March 11: $275 for all guests
