WWU Youth Programs to host GEMS Fair this spring

Western Washington University Youth Programs invites girls of all ages and their families to participate in the GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science) Fair this spring.

The event will be held Saturday, May 12 from noon to 4 p.m. in Western’s Academic West building. Families and friends are welcome to enjoy the event.

Designed for all ages, the GEMS Fair provides a safe and empowering environment to explore STEM fields and an opportunity for hands-on learning. Participants will be able to learn about STEM careers, enjoy demonstrations and presentations throughout the day. Local STEM-based programs and groups will be at the event to inspire and encourage young women to explore different aspects of STEM.

The GEMS Fair is a free event, but registration is encouraged. To register, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GEMSFAIR2018.

The Phillips 66 Ferndale Refinery is a sponsor of the GEMS Fair.
