WWU to Offer Seven Early-Release Enrichment Programs for K-5 Students Starting January

Western Washington University will offer seven Early Release Enrichment programs exploring topics in sciences, arts and culture from 1:45-5 p.m. on Jan. 14, 21 and 28, and Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25 on Western’s campus.

Designed to give K-5 students in the Bellingham School District an alternative to traditional childcare, Early Release Enrichment provides young people an opportunity to make exciting discoveries in a lively university setting.

Students will benefit from hands-on activities in specialized labs and classrooms, and will experience a college campus through tours of Western.

Each session will feature a different theme, including “A Play on Plays,” “T-Rex Thursday,” “Cultures from Around the World,” “Wild Weather,” “Imagination Station,” “Chemistry in the Kitchen” and “Seuss-ology.”

Registration is now open for both winter and spring Early Release Enrichment. Students are asked to bring a rain jacket, healthy snack and curious mind.
