WWU Native American Student Union to Host Powwow April 12-13

The WWU Native American Student Union (NASU) will host the Revival Powwow Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 in Carver Gym.

There will be a Coastal Jam and dinner on Friday from 6-10 p.m., followed by the Powwow on Saturday.

On Saturday, registration opens at 10 a.m., and the Grand Entry is scheduled for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Dances with prizes, ranging from $100 to $325, will be offered in the following categories:

  • Women’s – Junior 7-12; Teen 13-17; Adult Fancy 18+; Adult Jingle; Adult Traditional; Golden Age 55+.
  • Men’s – Junior 7-12; Teen 13-17; Adult Fancy 18+; Adult Grass; Adult Traditional; and Golden Age 55+.

Tiny Tots Dance participants will receive prize gifts. The Dance Special will be MMIW Red Jingle Special.

Michael Vendiola will be the Master of Ceremony; Randy Vendiola will be the Arena Director; The Sharpshooters will be Head Drum.
