WWU Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Students Start New Networking Roundtable

Western Washington University Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management students looking for a gateway into a successful career now have a place to turn.

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) has recently approved the formation of a roundtable for Western Washington University. The roundtable is an organization that provides students with the opportunity to host events related to supply chain management and network with professionals in the field.

President of the WWU roundtable and Western student Morgan Cole of Yakima said he and other board members plan to host discussions by supply chain management professionals from companies like Microsoft and Google.

“We formed the roundtable so that we would be able to give students a chance to get involved in leadership roles and provide them with networking opportunities,” Cole said.

Networking opportunities like the chance to visit the yearly CSCMP national convention in San Diego, California. Cole, who attended the 2015 convention, said it was an amazing opportunity and he hopes to send all of the roundtables officers to the convention in 2016.

The CSCMP was founded in 1963 and is dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of research and knowledge on supply chain management.
