WWU Give Day spotlight: Career Services Center

How can you help offset the costs for a Western Student to join a professional affinity association?  During Give Day 2021, the Career Services Center is raising  funds to waive the annual cost for students to join or renew membership in professional affinity associations.   We believe that providing the opportunity to participate in professional associations can lead to many benefits for our students, including: developing a network of connections, opportunities for civic and community engagement, facilitate knowledgeable communications and provide mentorship and mentees.  Many organizations offer a student membership discount!

Affinity groups can include professional networking groups, caucuses or councils and provide forums for groups of students or employees who share a common background of interest.  Commonalities include racial, ethnic background, gender, religion, physical abilities, military service, age, and major/subjects of interest.  Students can view a list of suggested organizations at the Career Services Center website or request funding to join an organization of their choice.

Visit the Career Services Center Give Day Page to become an ambassador or donate during the 48-hour early launch period May 19-20 or during the 24-hour official Give Day on May 27.  Donations received throughout both times will be eligible for matching funds!   Learn about this event and other Give Day opportunities to directly donate to programs, teams, clubs or departments here

Thank you for supporting opportunities for Western Students!
