WWU budget proposals to be presented April 22 and 23, sessions to be audiocast live

Operating budget proposals for Western Washington University's 2010-11 supplemental budget will be presented to the WWU community from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 22, and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, April 23.

A rough schedule of planning unit budget presentations is below. The schedule is flexible and will depend upon needs for discussion. Consequently, start times for any particular session is approximate.

Thursday, April 22:

  • Introduction (President Bruce Shepard): 8 a.m. to 8:10 a.m.
  • Academic Affairs Presentation & Discussion (Provost Catherine Riordan): 8:10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Break: 11 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
  • Business & Financial Affairs Presentation & Discussion (Interim Vice President Kathy Wetherell): 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • Lunch: 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Student Affairs & Academic Support Services Presentation & Discussion (Vice President Eileen Coughlin): 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • University Advancement Presentation & Discussion (Vice President Stephanie Bowers): 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • University Relations Presentation & Discussion (Vice President Steve Swan): 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Break 3 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
  • President’s Area and Institutional Accounts Presentation & Discussion (Bruce Shepard): 3:15 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • Non Planning Unit Suggestions & Discussion, to include onetime budget issues, e.g. furloughs (Bruce Shepard): 3:35 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, April 23:

  • Introduction (President Bruce Shepard): 8 a.m. to 8:10 a.m.
  • Discussion of budget proposals as a whole: 8:10 am to 11 a.m.
