Western websites to have an updated look and feel on Dec. 15
Western websites are continuing to get a refresh for the first time in about seven years, with a modernized theme designed to improve both style and usability.
This theme update is part of ongoing efforts to keep Western’s digital presence fresh, accessible, and user-friendly for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The new design launched on the WWU homepage and the WWU Foundation site on Monday, Sept. 15. Since that time, over 30 other websites have opted into the theme. WebTech has continued to incorporate feedback from these early adopters. A full rollout with all remaining sites will occur between Dec. 15th and 16th, 2025.
The updated theme features:
- An updated header with a contemporary look and feel
- An optional updated menu structure for more straightforward navigation
- A new “megafooter” designed by local hydrascape artist Gretchen Leggitt
- Some style refreshes for call to action links, announcement blocks, and image with description blocks
