Western’s Summer Session available online to the community

Western Washington University will host 2020 Summer Session courses entirely online.

Summer Session enables community members, including high school students, to take classes through Western without the requirement of admission, and is a great opportunity for potential students and community members to try a course.

There are two general sessions with different start and end dates. Classes that are part of the six-week session run June 23 through July 31. Classes that are part of the nine-week session run June 23 through August 21. The normal academic year has 11-week quarters, so most summer classes are offered in a concentrated format.

With smaller class sizes, students have the opportunity for more faculty interaction. Current and recently-graduated high-school students are also able to try out courses, introducing them to curriculum while they get a head start on earning college credit.

Registration for community members not admitted to Western begins May 11 and is open until June 29. Prior to registration, an online application must be completed and submitted to the registrar’s office via email.
