Western’s SBDC Business Advisors Recognized for Economic Impacts

CJ Seitz, director of Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Eric Grimstead, a certified business advisor with the SBDC, were recently recognized by the Washington State SBDC network for the financial impacts they helped clients generate in 2016.

Each year the Washington State SBDC network acknowledges business advisors who help clients generate over $1 million dollars in economic impacts in the communities they serve.

Both advisors were responsible for helping clients generate over $3 million dollars in local capital investment and both have been responsible for over $10 million dollars of impacts over their respective careers with the Bellingham SBDC.

“2016 was a busy year for us here at the SBDC. We helped a number of business owners in buy/sell transactions as well as helping a number of our clients to invest in purchasing new property, plant and equipment assets. It has been encouraging to see more clients willing and able to invest in our local economy,” said Seitz.

Since 1983, Western’s Small Business Development Center has given back to the business community and helped to shape the economic future of Whatcom County by providing free, confidential advising, technical assistance, and research to business owners and managers in an effort to help businesses thrive.
