Western Pride Celebration is May 31 at the Flag Plaza

Sign up by May 24 to volunteer, table or participate

Please join LGBTQ+ Western for our annual pride celebration! This celebration launches Pride Month with the flying of the New Progress Flag at Flag Plaza (by the Rec Center), a cording ceremony for LGBTQ+ graduates, and a celebration on the Communications lawn.

This year we are giving away free t-shirts for the first 300 participants, with sizes ranging from XS-3XL. After the ceremony we will have a tie-dye station for the shirts!

Estimated schedule of events:

4-4:20pm: Gathering at flag plaza

4:20-4:50: Speeches, pride flag raising, recognition of grads and cording ceremony

4:50-6pm: Tabling, activities, and tie-dye at Communications lawn (MAC Gym rain location)

Student clubs and orgs and LGBTQ+ outside organizations can sign up to table here by May 24th

Student graduates can sign up to receive their rainbow cord here by May 24th. We can mail cords to students who graduated already. Pick up options are available too. You do not need to be part of the cording ceremony to get your rainbow cords!

Please RSVP here so we can get an estimate of food needs.

Volunteers! We need volunteers for the event. Please fill out this form by May 24th.

Faculty! If you are interested in participating in the ceremony by giving students their rainbow cords, please let JoeHahn know by May 24th, just send them an email at lgbtq@wwu.edu
