Vikings split matches with two Top 10 teams at WOU tourney

Western Washington University split a pair of matches with two nationally top 10 teams, defeating No.8 UC San Diego, 19-25, 29-27, 25-22, 26-24, and being swept by No.2 Cal State San Bernardino, 25-16, 25-14, 25-18, in final-day action Saturday at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Challenge held at the New P.E. Building on the campus of host Western Oregon and at Central High School in Independence, Ore.

The Vikings finished 3-1 in the tourney, sweeping two season-opening matches Friday over No.10 Metro State CO and Humboldt State CA.
