Brazilian Jui-jitsu

Resume tips and tricks

Join Carissa Bane from the Career Services Center for tips on starting and updating your resume. Learn the basics of resume and cover letter writing including what is important when applying to jobs and internships, why you need to tailor your resume/cover letter to specific positions, and how to incorporate skills from past experiences and majors. We will spend the final 20 minutes helping you get your resume started and reviewing resumes for personalized feedback.

Join Patrick Feuer to learn about key strategies and resources that can help you move from a passive to an active job and internship search. Learn how to use Western’s primary job and internship search platform, Handshake, to help you find opportunities ranging from internships to full time jobs. Participants will learn how to personalize their free Handshake account, search for jobs and internships, connect with employers, and learn about upcoming career events.

Every Friday the VSO offers our veteran and dependent population a chance to have an informal group discussion with a counselor from the health and wellness center about your experience so far as a new and returning student at WWU! This is a great opportunity to meet the team that processes your benefits as well as to create a newfound community within WWU. Feel free to stop by at any time during 2-3:30 p.m. at the VSO Viking commons room 525. If you have a topic of interest that you want to discuss during that time, please fill out our Coffee with a Counselor survey!
Healthy movement

Learn more about fundamental movement qualities, constraints and limitations of movement freedom and how to improve by using healthy movement choices. Come dressed-down and ready for movement. For all fitness levels. Signups only. Every 25 minutes, 2-5pm. Meet at the Rec Center Front Desk area. We’ll have someone bring you to the conference room.
Spinning and yoga at the Rec Center
