University Ethics Officer announced

Antonia Allen, Director, Office of the Internal Auditor, has been appointed as Western Washington University’s Ethics Officer.

The primary duty of the Ethics Officer is to assist the University’s employees in understanding their obligations regarding ethics in public service act.

At Western, the Ethics Officer is also responsible for:

  1. The administration of a university-wide ethics program consistent with the Revised Code of Washington Title 42, Chapter 52, Washington Administrative Code 292, and various existing university policies;
  2. The receipt, investigation, and resolution of ethics complaints by or against faculty or staff,
  3. The adoption and maintenance of a suitable record keeping processes to memorialize ethics officer operations;
  4. The reporting of ethics violations as required or requested by or to the university president, the university board of trustees or the board's subcommittees, and to the Washington State Executive Ethics Board; and
  5. Other duties as mandated by other laws, regulations or policies.
