Today is the application deadline to apply to the Marine and Coastal Science (MACS) major

Are you interested in studying marine science while at Western? The application deadline to apply to the Marine and Coastal Science (MACS) major is today,  Tuesday, Jan. 16.

The MACS program is a cohort-based major that immerses students in interdisciplinary marine and coastal science, including biological, chemical, geological, and physical marine systems. The program focuses on experiential learning and takes advantage of Western’s incredible marine research facilities down at Shannon Point Marine Center in Anacortes. MACS accepts 30 students into the major only once per year so this will be your only opportunity to apply to the major this academic year.

Students are expected to have completed several preparatory courses before applying to the major. For details on the major and how to apply, please visit the MACS website at marine.wwu.edu. Any questions about the major or the application process can be directed to MACSadvising@wwu.edu.
