Thank you from New Student Services/Family Outreach and Academic Advising

We want to thank the campus community for making the Transitions and Summerstart programs such a successful and welcoming experience for the new students and family members who visited campus in July and August.  The planning and coordination with offices across campus makes it possible to provide a timely, complete and coordinated experience for the newest members of the Western community.  As a village, we hosted 857 transfer students, 2,528 freshmen and over 2,000 family members during the 19 days of summer advising and orientation programs.

Thanks to all the offices and individuals who answered questions, helped point people in the right direction and contributed to the warm welcome that characterizes WWU.  A special thanks to Academic Computing, the Registrar's Office, University Residences, Dining Services, the Admissions Office, the Associated Students, and all the presenters, information fair participants and most importantly – the departmental academic advisors and academic departments that provide the guidance and direction students so greatly need as they register for classes.

We'll see you in September at Western Welcome Week and again, many thanks for your time and contribution!
