Tech group to cover sharing academic content, promoting personal brand

Learning Technology Group sessions for this fall will cover Canvas Commons, a feature that allows the sharing of Canvas course materials, and options for promoting personal work online. The sessions will be held in Haggard Hall Room 222 from noon to 1 p.m.

Wed. 10/21 @ 12-1 - HH222: Sharing Academic Content: Canvas Commons

Join Kevin Dixey, Justina Brown, and John Farquhar to explore the new “Canvas Commons” feature that allows you to share parts of your Canvas course materials to a common online space. You can share an assignment, page, quiz, survey, or even an entire module or course and designate whether it should be available for reuse within your department, by anyone at WWU, by anyone in the greater public Canvas Commons, or simply with yourself for use in other courses. Bring a laptop to try this yourself or you can join us to learn and discuss the potential of this feature.

Tues. 11/10 @ 12-1 - HH222: Tools for Promoting Your Personal Brand

Join  us to examine options for helping promote yourself and your work on the web,  such as faculty web pages, student ePortfolio sites, and blogs. These tools  will include WWU's new WordPress environment, social media, and more. Representatives from ATUS, Office of Communications, Web Services, and Western Libraries will contribute to this informative session.
