Student photo exhibition, 'Through Our Lens,' opens in the B Gallery May 14
The Counseling and Wellness Center and the Pink Moon Society are proud to announce the opening of “Through Our Lens,” a gallery exhibit featuring film photography and storytelling from Western students!
The exhibit runs May 13 - 22 in the B Gallery, Fine Arts Room 118. Admission is free. Please join us for light refreshments and community celebration at our opening reception on Wednesday, May 14, 4:30 - 5:30 PM. Free food and live music! For disability accommodation, please email cwc@wwu.edu.
Showcasing a diverse array of images, this exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the vibrant experiences and perspectives of Western students’ visual perspectives in response to the questions: “Why not me?” and “How do we build our own spaces at WWU?”
Funded by the Sustainability, Equity, and Justice Fund, the “Through Our Lens” project spanned two quarters. Based on Photovoice, a community-based participatory research methodology, the project connected science and practice, inspiring community engagement and student participation in the development, planning, and implementation of a well-being intervention that gave students a space to reflect individually and communally about belonging and connection at WWU through the medium of photography.
