Spring TLA discusses strengthening Western
The Teaching-Learning Academy's spring dialog groups begin this week. Attendees will approach the question "How can we engage and connect multiple voices to strengthen Western as a 21st-century liberal arts university?"
As in previous quarters, TLA has four groups, two meeting on Wednesdays and two on Thursdays. Times are noon to 1:20 p.m. and 2 to 3:20 p.m. both days. Groups start Wednesday, April 4, and Thursday, April 5, meeting every other week throughout the quarter. Dates are April 4/5, April 18/19, May 2/3 and May 16/17; the Academy Awards will take place May 30.
Discussions take place in Wilson Library Room 270 in the Learning Commons.
Students may be able to earn Communication 339 practicum credit for participating; those interested should send an email to Carmen Werder at carmen.werder@wwu.edu. Faculty, staff and community members are welcome to attend whenever possible and to stay for as long as schedules permit. Those who miss their regular meetings are welcome to sit in on another group.
For more information, email Werder or Shevell Thibou (shevell.thibou@wwu.edu).
