Snow is on the way this weekend; here's what to expect
According to the National Weather Service, it is likely that Bellingham will see its first snowfall of the year this weekend.
The NWS issued a Winter Storm Watch Thursday afternoon showing snow starting as early as Saturday night followed by the lowest temperatures of the weekend Sunday night, with the potential of from 2-6 inches of snow during that time, and higher accumulations in the mountains.
Of course these are forecast models, and it could snow more, or snow less. Remember that traversing campus may take extra time, and that good footwear is essential. Use the safety/snow route layer of the campus map to see what routes are cleared first.
Remember that any WWU closure or delay information will be sent to the campus community by 6 a.m. Monday morning via email and text message through the Western Alert system. If you have not entered your mobile phone number to receive texts, you can add it via the personal information section of Web4U. Note that a lack of storm messaging by 6 a.m. indicates that campus is open and on a normal operating schedule.
