Reminder: Student Tech Fee Committee seeks comments through May 2 

The Student Technology Fee (STF) Tech Initiatives Committee asks for student, faculty, and staff comments on the STF Tech Initiatives proposals for the current academic year. Comments for this year's proposals are due May 2. 

The 16 proposals are posted on the STF website for your review. Please send comments to the committee at batemad@wwu.edu. 

Your voice is important! Comments from the Western community greatly contribute to the committee’s decision-making process. As university funding continues to face challenges, it is crucial that we spend this student fee wisely. 

For AY 2023, the portion of the Student Tech Fee earmarked for Tech Initiatives proposals is approximately $193,000. Tech Initiatives are technology projects that support the Student Technology Fee mission, which follows: 

The Student Technology Fee provides Western students with adequate and innovative technology experiences by: 

• Broadening/enhancing the quality of the academic experience, 

• Providing additional student access to technology, and 

• Increasing integration of technology into the curriculum.
