Permanent steam line almost complete at Miller Hall

The Miller Hall heating repair team is preparing to transition the building to the new permanent steam line starting Monday, Dec. 15, after commencement weekend. While the building systems are being connected into the campus heating system, heat will have to be turned off in Miller. The heat shutoff is expected to run from Dec. 15-23; heat should be fully restored by Dec. 24.

Expect to see large steam clouds and hear loud hissing noises as the team flushes out the steam lines. This may cause some disruption but is perfectly normal for the work and not a cause for concern.

Once permanent heat is reestablished, the temporary steam line will be dismantled and removed, and the team will begin installing the final section of new steam lines beneath East College Way. East College Way is expected to reopen to traffic by late January.
