Open seats available in the upcoming Faculty Senate election

The Faculty Senate has announced its election schedule and open seats for the AY 2024-2026 term.

The following colleges have seats available in this year's elections: CENV (1), CSE  (1), CHSS-HUM (5), WCE (1), and Libraries (1).

The deadline for nominations to college governance bodies is April 26. Colleges must submit their nominations to the Faculty Senate by May 10, and the Senate will certify the results at its May 20th meeting. New Senators will be seated and Executive Officers will be elected at the June 3 Faculty Senate meeting.

Any voting-eligible faculty member (0.5 FTE or greater) may be nominated to serve. Senate terms are renewable every two years for up to six years. Current Senators who wish to serve a second or third term must go through the nomination process of their college governing body.

Faculty Senate elections are conducted annually by college governance bodies, with Senators serving two-year terms. Interested faculty should contact their college governance bodies or visit the Faculty Senate website to learn more.
