Oct. 23 forum to focus on 'Preparing the Self'

Community Engagement Fellows, a faculty development program hosted by the Western Washington University Center for Service-Learning, will hold a community engagement forum Oct. 23 titled "Preparing the Self."

The forum, which will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the WWU City Center in the Herald Building at 1155 State St., is open to all who wish to attend.

Emily O'Connor, executive director of Lydia Place, and Kristen French, director of WWU's Center for Education, Equity, and Diversity, will launch the discussion by sharing their insights about faculty preparation for community engagement.

The remaining time will be used for an open-ended dialogue during which  others can share insights and ask questions.

The WWU Alumni Association and Center for Service-Learning will provide snacks and refreshments.

This Forum is part of Community Engagement Fellows, a faculty development program hosted by the WWU Center for Service-Learning.
