Next phase of the Birnam Wood parking lot project to begin June 25

The second phase of the Birnam Wood parking lot renewal project will begin on June 25 and continue into September. 

The apartments will be empty during the summer, and the parking lot will be closed to the public. The demolition work will seriously compromise the root systems of 27 mature trees abutting the pavement within the parking area, requiring that the trees be removed for safety. 

Western’s gardeners will plant new trees to replace those lost to the renewal project.
