Next 'Libations with a Linguist' is April 12

The Department of Linguistics is pleased to announce “Libations with a Linguist” will continue this spring. Faculty from Western’s Linguistics Department organize these community round-table discussions once a quarter.  These talks are free and open to the public of all ages.

Our next "Libations With a Linguist" event is scheduled for April 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Ponderosa, located at 1225 Roeder Ave, Suite 101, in Bellingham.

Jordan Sandoval, an assistant professor in Western’s Linguistics Department, will present “tough, cough, through, bough: What a linguist has to say about why English spelling is so weird.”

For more information on this event, contact Linguistics Department Manager Sara Helms at helmss@wwu.edu or at 360-650-3914. Additional program information can also be found at on our website.
