Unplug and Connect sessions encourage discussion without technology

In our busy world, it's easy to lose track of what is important. The winter quarter Unplug and Connect sessions provide an interactive -- and face-to-face -- look at ways the Western Washington University community can incorporate tools to focus on what matters.

Unplug and Connect is a series of interactive sessions that provide a space for students, staff and faculty to connect and discuss topics that affect our wellbeing without the use of technology.

This quarter’s theme is Unload the Overload – Focus on What Matters. The discussions will be facilitated by Catharine Vader of Prevention and Wellness Services and Marli Williams of Student Outreach Services, who promise a fun and safe space for reflection, learning and connection.

The sessions take place from 2 to 3 p.m. every Wednesday from Jan. 28 to March 5:

  • The Power of Listening | Jan 29 | Viking Union 462A
  • The Power of Choices | Feb 5 | Old Main 330C
  • The Power of Thought | Feb 12 | Viking Union 462A
  • The Power of Curiosity | Feb 19 | Viking Union 462A
