Meet returned Peace Corps volunteers and test your geography knowledge Tuesday

WWU Peace Corps will be holding two important events to highlight National Peace Corps Week Feb. 27 through March 3.

On Feb. 28, there will be a panel discussion with three returned Peace Corps volunteers who now work at Western. Drop by between noon and 1 p.m. in Miller Hall Room 138 to hear stories about their experiences working as a volunteer, their perspectives on adjusting after they returned to the United States and their impact they had in the communities they served. Pizza will be served!

The second event will be a fun Geography Bee to test your geography skills of where Peace Corps Volunteers work around the world.  Prizes will be awarded for all correct answers.  This event will highlight the various countries around the world Peace Corps is currently working in. This event will be held in Miller Hall Collaborative Space from 1-2 p.m. on Feb. 28 immediately after the panel discussion.

Peace Corps is over 60 years old, with over 240,000 volunteers who have served in over 62 different countries to improve health, education, agriculture and the environment. WWU has played a big role in sending many Peace Corps Volunteers around the world and is ranked annually as one of the top Peace Corps schools in the nation.
